Using this thoroughly explained, detailed flash lesson, I will explain to you how to create advanced picture effect in flash using some special flash tips and tricks and mask options. You don't have to use action script code to make this lesson. Using this lesson, you will also learn how to use Selection Tool (V) to create many shapes, how to create Shape Tween, convert any layer into a mask and much much more! Let's start!
Example:
Step 1
Find on internet or somewhere one picture, open it in some of graphic programs (photoshop....), and set its dimension to 300x240px.
Step 2
Start Flash. Select Modify > Document (shortcut key: Ctrl+J ). Set the width of your document to 300 pixels and the height to 240 pixels.Frame rate set to 24 fps (Frames per Second) and click ok.

Step 3
Choose File > Import > Import to Stage (Ctrl+R) and Import the first picture.
Step 4
While the picture is still selected, go to the Align Panel (Ctrl+K) and set the following options:
1. Make sure that the Align/Distribute to Stage button is turned on, 2. Click on the Align horizontal center button and 3. Click the Align vertical center button.

Now, you have aligned your picture with background.
Step 5
Double click on layer 1 to rename its name into a picture1.Then, click on frame 40 and press F5 key.
Step 6
Create a new layer above the picture layer and name it shape1
Step 7
Select the shape layer and take the Rectangle Tool (R). In the Colors portion of the Tool panel, block the Stroke color by clicking on the little pencil tool icon and then on the small square with the red diagonal line. For Fill color choose any color. See the picture below.

After that, draw a rectangle on the left side of picture like it is shown on the picture below.

Step 8
Click on frame 20 of layer shape1 and press F6 key. Then, take the Selection Tool (V) and do like it is shown on the pictre below.

Step 9
Click on frame 30 and press F6 key.
Step 10
Take again the Selection Tool (V) and do like it is shown on the picture below.

Step 11
Click on frame 40 and press F6 key. Then, take the Free Transform Tool (Q) and do like it is shown on the picture below.

Step 12
Take the selection Tool (V), select the shape1 layer and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage.On the Tween menu choose Shape. See the picture below.

Step 13
Select shape1 layer and convert it to a mask by right-clicking on the shape1layer and selecting Mask.

We're done with the first picture. Repeat this process for every other picture.
Test your Movie (Ctrl+Enter).
