Holiday card animation

It's holiday time and I make a decision to make some simple, but in the same time very attractive and practical holiday card. You don't have to use action script code to make this holiday animation. You can use this animation every christmas holiday as header, flash banner..... You will also learn:

1. How to make snow,
2. How to animate it,
3. How to Import some holiday elements into a flash to make this card more attractive and much more!



Step 1

Open a new flash document. Press Ctrl+J key on the keyboard (Document Properties) and set the width of your document to 350 pixels and the height to 150 pixels. Select any color as background color.Set your Flash movie's frame rate to 32 and click ok. See the picture below.





Step 2


Take the Rectangle Tool (R). In the Colors portion of the Tool panel, block the Stroke color by clicking on the little pencil icon and then on the small square with the red diagonal line. For Fill color choose any color and draw a "rectangle" dimension 350x150px (as the dimension of flash document) over the stage. See the picture below.



Step 3

While the rectangle is still selected, go to the Color Mixer Panel (Shoetcut key: Shift+F9) and choose the following options:

1. Click on the paint bucket icon to select the Fill color.
2. Choose Radial as Type.
3. Click on the small color rectangle that is on the left side and set its color to #6D94BB. Alpha property set to100 %
4. After that, click on the small color rectangle that is on the right side and set its color to #BAD1E3.Alpha property set also to100 %.



Now, you have this:



Step 4

After that, take the Free Transform Tool (Q) and rotate the rectangle like it is shown on the picture below.



After that, go to the Info Panel below the stage (Ctrl+F3) and for Width set 350 and Height 150px. See the picture below.



Then, go to the Align Panel (Ctrl+K) and do the following:

1. Make sure that the Align/Distribute to Stage button is turned on,
2. Click on the Align horizontal center button and
3. Click the Align vertical center button.



Now, we have rotated and aligned background and now we have this:



Step 5

It's time for snow, so double click on layer 1 to rename its name in background. After that, create a new layer above the background layer and name it snow.

Step 6

Take the Brush Tool (B), for Brush size choose minimal size and for brush color set white. See the picture below.



Step 7

Then, click somewhere on the stage. That click will represent out snow flake.:) See the picture below.



Step 8

While the snow flake is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this flake into a Movie Clip Symbol.



Step 9

Double click on the new made movie clip (snow flake) with the Selection Tool (V). You should now be inside the Movie Clip. See the picture below.



Step 10

While the snow flake is still selected, press again F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this snow flake again into a Movie Clip Symbol.



Step 11

Click after that right click on layer 1 and choose Add Motion Guide. See the picture below.




Now, you have this:



Step 12

Select Guide layer and take the Pencil Tool (Y). Then, for Pencil option as stile choose Smooth, for pencil color choose any color and draw a line which will represent our snow guide. See the picture below.





Step 13

Click on frame 100 of layer guide and press F5 key. After that, go back on layer 1, and while you're still on frame 1, place the snow flake on the top of guide line. See the picture below.



After that, click on frame 100 of layer 1 and press F6 key. Then, move the snow flake on the bottom of guide line.



Step 14

Choose right-click anywhere on the gray area between the frame 1 and frame 100 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.See the picture below.



If you now test your Movie (Ctrl+Enter), you will a snow flake that is falling from the top to the bottom following the guide line. Now, we're done with the first snow flake. Duplicate this snow flake as many time as you like. Note! Place some snow flake on the difernet frame becouse of time.
